Breezy awoke early this morn .. with some time on her hands she took a stroll first to her beloved Lotus under the Sea .. then as always a fun ride up the .. lift to the Port ..
I love the clicking noise and still the excitement when the door opens as if just for me each and every time .. grins
as I peak low and behold still one of the most beautiful Scenes ..on the grid .. my humble opinion....

Perhaps the Drop Kick Murphy's a bit much for some .. but for this am and this view .. grins it called my name and came to mind .. Indeed the Departed ..

Wedding Customs: A Day Before The Wedding

Today I wish to share with you a punjabi pre wedding ritual....one that i personally like very much : the tying of the kalira on the bride's hands after the chooda.The morning before the actual wedding ceremony, the bride's maternal uncle and aunt come to the bride's house loaded with gifts for the family and the bride:)

It is now that the bride is made to wear the traditional chooda (a set of 21 white and red bangles, an important symbol for a newly wed punjabi bride) by her maternal uncle and aunt. the bride is not supposed to look at the chooda before or during the process is on. All family members touch the chooda to bless the bride and sing traditional songs. in olden times the chooda used to be made out of ivory but now it is made in plastic.

After the chooda has been worn, the bride's family ties the kaliras on each hand to a bangle.
Kaliras are traditionally umbrella shaped ornaments made in thin gold or silver sheets. Some relatives even tie small silver boxes, toe rings etc onto the kaliras. These ornaments signify blessings and good wishes. From now on the bride has to wear these till the end of the wedding ceremonies. Some jokingly say that the kaliras are tied so that the bride may rest before the wedding day as working with the kaliras on becomes very difficult especially if you have a big extended family (which is the case for me;).

The bride then shakes the kaliras on the heads of the unmarried girls of the family and the popular saying is that...the lucky one on whom a part of the kalira falls will be the one getting married next!! i like the traditional golden kaliras the best...they look so pretty...and this photograph above has always been one of my favourite frames in any wedding album. In India girls are often called Lakshmi (the goddess of wealth and prosperity)..and so when the lakshmi of the house leaves to go and be with her husband, she ensures that her maternal house remains prosperous by throwing rice puffs which are symbolic of food and wealth :)

Swansong event @ Rezzable Black Swan

I found myself excited about this last show @ The Black Swan Sim
I shall miss the different and beautiful sculpted Sim ... sigh....

Swansong Waters Edge
As we all know Rezzable has been closing down their sims and this will include their Black Swan at the end of this delightful event as they wanted to close the Black Swan sim with most special last fashion event.

The last Fashion event is called Swansong which brings together the Earth, Fire, Air and Water elements. The designers were asked to create around those four elements which are highly emphasized in the Black Swan sim itself. From Japanese ancient drawings of Waves, to sculpted fires, mermaids, and earthly sexy gods and goddess form the gowns this time. This is only some of course and all together they have 30 Designers who made gorgeous hair , gowns, jewellery and skin all around these 4 elements. 30 Designers join around one theme and celebrate the creativity of the SL Fashion under one Sim. They work so hard to create these designs
Water is considered a purifier in most religions and is an element essential to life. For the Ancient Greeks, water was considered cold and moist and a basic substance of the universe.

Greetings .. personal note to start .... as many of you know breezy is a bit of a eclectic Music Junkie of sorts from niche formats that have no true placement from tower of power to ahh contemporary oddities , classical. r &b, classic hits .. jazz , swing , big bands .. classic rock .. jamming oldies , ahh in other words these are the many sounds of steam .. show tunes are grand !! Hey disco was fun !! (( been playing, spinning and selling the stuff in rl for decades ))
with the help of Mr DJ Bats we try to bring you for just one night a month something a little different (( not always an easy task warm smile ))
We have many of the very best in pure true passionate characters among all of we and our dear home land continues to grow .. (( How exciting and wonderful is that !! ))
My soul intention with Piermont Landing is to show and share all with all no more no less !!
For so many of we ,Music is what makes all the difference in the world !!!!
