GET THE LOOK - Afternoon Tea Themed Wedding

Afternoon Tea Themed Wedding... LOVE IT!  So 'in' right now, bring back the Britishness... this is also a great idea for Hen Partys.

To me Afternoon Tea is decadent, regal, relaxed and scrumptous.  It can also be vintage garden chic.  Parsian royalty or British street party.

If you decided to go for an Afternoon Tea theme wedding reception, you can hire great china from many wedding supplier these days (if your venue doesn't already have any you like)!  To add to the affect include lots of garden flowers, pastel colours, round tables with cushioned chairs (if possible)... maybe try an outside setting.

Yum, look at all the cakes :)

Bake a Royal Wedding themed cake and win afternoon Tea Royale for two at the Langham Hotel in London
The Times is searching for a baking king or queen. Send us your recipes and photos for a cake to celebrate the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29th.

The winner will win Tea Royale for two at the Langham London Hotel plus an overnight stay for two people including breakfast and have their recipe featured in T2’s the Table.

Your cake or bake needs to have a royal theme – whether it’s shaped like a crown, decorated with bunting or topped with Wills and Kate figurines. It can be as simple or fancy as you like but needs to look good on on the street party table. Entries, which must include both a recipe and a photo, can be made via email at food@thetimes.co.uk or post (see below for address).

We will promote it daily on Twitter - @timesfood - and regularly on the Times Facebook page. For ideas and inspiration some of the country’s top bakers have created some exclusive royally-inspired cakes for the Times.

The competition runs from Feb 23rd to April 10th. Finalists will be showcased in a slideshow on both the Times website and the Times facebook page - positive comments and Facebook “likes” will be taken into consideration by the judging panel. The judging panel comprises Times food writers and the master baker Eric Lanlard. The winning recipe will be crowned the Times Royal Bake-off Cake and feature in the paper on April 14th.

The prizes: Win afternoon Tea Royale for two at the Langham London Hotel plus an overnight stay for two people including breakfast. Three runners up prizes of Bompas and Parr’s specially commissioned royal jelly mould plus a copy of Baking Made Easy by Lorraine Pascale published by Harper Collins. Please send entries to: The Times Royal Bake-Off, The Table, 3 Thomas More Square (floor 5), London  E98 1TT
