Miss Phillips, 29, who is 12th in line to the throne, said she was "shocked", but "very happy"; the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh said they were "delighted" by news of the engagement.
No wedding date has yet been set.

They did it, July 29th in Edinburgh... thankfully with beautiful weather!
The bride's dress, an ivory silk and satin gown, was designed by Stewart Parvin, one of the Queen's favourite couturiers. This was accompanied by a veil, tiara and Jimmy Choo shoes. Princess Anne's second marriage, to Timothy Laurence, was the last Scottish royal wedding in 1992.
